Christian Drug Rehab

People who have attended Christian drug rehab center have found them useful in the long run. Often people without any knowledge or understanding of the Bible and Spirituality are placed in such a Rehab and a tremendous amount of growth takes place whilst they are there. Various treatment programs take place such as one-on-one counseling and group meetings involving faith-based and biblical teachings.

Research has shown that children are staying with their parents for a longer period of time in third world countries such as India and Cambodia, learning good moral values and a spiritual, meaningful outlook on life. This compares with the American lifestyle of the a divorce rate, custody battles about their kids which leaves them feeling disillusioned about their life.

Brian Welch, a member of the band Korn managed to kicked the habit cold turkey, after going to church one day and hearing from God, but there are not many who have the same discipline. It takes a lot more strength and willpower.

All patients of the christian drug rehab center are required to spend at least an hour in prayer a day. Sometimes the family is encouraged to participate in the program. Occassionaly programs accept patients and decide they are not ready for spirituality and let them take it in their own stride. It is then a good idea to start with the traditional approach and leave them to move along to the faith-based program when they are ready.

Recovery is a complete transformation and is what the ultimate goal would be. Rehab would be the traditional method that you would get at any Drug Rehab Center. Recovery is what the aim would be.

Twelve Steps of a recovery is not only addiction, but also morals, values, learning about the disease and fellowshipping with other Christians as well as acquiring biblical principles. Looking at what God wants in the lives of the patients is what twelve step recovery program is about.

I had the privilege of visiting one of the christian drug rehab centers in a beautiful area outside of Sao Paulo. There were about ten guys of all ages and everybody had a story to tell. Some came from a drug related background and some were heavy drinkers. I was with the rest of my outreach team. One of our team mates gave his testimony and next our team leader spoke, both with drug-related pasts, which gave the guys hope.

There was an opportunity to pray for the Brazilians, which gave me great joy.Sao Paulo is probably the drug capital of the world with drug lords ruling the streets, scaring away the police. Hopefully someday that will all change.
