What makes a successful entrepreneur?

A successful entrepreneur will have a certain quality, characteristic and personality trait about them. Of course this varies according to the individual, but generally there is a certain drive.

Self – motivation

There is nobody telling you what to do anymore. You are now your own boss and it is up to you how you use your time. There is no time for procrastination in this game. Successful internet entrepreneurs have stuck to their guns and persevered. They have seen their web sites grow from strength to strength and this is what it takes.

People person

You should be able to get on with people in general, having to deal with people in terms of customers, suppliers and staff on a daily basis. There are entrepreneurs who do very well for themselves and they are not terribly social, but it does definitely help your business. When you put the customer first it always leaves a good impression.

Delegate work

It is impossible to do everything yourself unless you are a small business entrepreneur and even then you will still have a personal life to attend do. It’s best to set your priorities straight. Focus on what is essential and those items that need to get done as well, but are less important you can assign to members of your staff or whoever is helping you.

Time management workplace

Here again, a procrastinator is not a desirable personality trait amongst entrepreneurs. Once your business and marketing plans have been worked through it’s time to get the show on the road. Running your own business does not involve sitting on a desert island with a cell phone in your hand to keep in touch with your staff. It is hard work.

Small Business Bookeeping

You don’t have to have a degree in accounting, but it is handy to know a little bit about adding up the dollars and the cents. Especially if you are just starting out and what to keep your budget as low as possible. It is essential to organize all your documents and any successful business entrepreneur will tell you this.

Multitasking

It’s important to be able to multitask in any business. Lots of things will be happening on a daily basis and you can’t focus your attention on just one area. If someone phones to place an order you can’t tell them to phone back because you are busy with a staff issue because they won’t!

Perseverance

Set goals for yourself. If shops and customers are not buying your products or your service is not doing as well as you hoped it would don’t give up. So many people spend money on a new business and expect to make a million in the first few months, but so often you will need a lot more patience and the ability to persevere if it does not succeed the first time

Willing to learn

People who are open-minded and are willing to take advice from someone who might be offering it will be more likely to succeed. Someone of a stubborn nature with an ego who thinks their idea is the only way to go might not be as successful. When you start a new business you will be learning something new everyday.

Gaining Self-Confidence

All entrepreneurs need some level of confidence in order for their business to grow. You should be able to believe in your product or service and then promote it to a store or a company with confidence. You should be able to tell them why what you have is so much better than any of your competitors and why they should buy or invest in it.

love the blog...I agree, you need to invest in yourself all the time to succeed. You are not born with a manual to get you through life, you have to learn through knowledge... read, read read and do what the successful people do...
