what is the cost of dental implants?

The average cost of dental Implants typically starts at $1000 – $3000 for a basic procedure, but if there is more work needed on the gums, bones or the surgery becomes more complex the prices could rise dramatically. Sometimes you could expect to pay as much as $15, 000 for a procedure that needs more work.

Of course prices vary from dentist to dentist. You should definitely do your homework beforehand and this will save you a lot of heartache in the long run. Shop around at different dentists and ask about prices as well about their credentials, qualifications and experience. You want a good price, but you don’t want to go too cheap when it comes to something you have to live with and function with on a daily basis.

You may have to shop around for the best cost . The cost of dental implants in Mexico are a lot cheaper and many people are going that way to have dental work done which will save a lot of money at the end of the day, but you also have to look out for someone who knows what they are doing.

Looking at the cost of dental implants in the USA will be more pricey, but you will be able to find a top implant dentlst. The cost of dental implants in Canada will cost you a lot less than what you would pay in the USA so you may want to consider this option as well.

When looking at the cost there are a few things to take into consideration. Firstly the cost of the dental implant surgery is the first thing to ask about. You will also be charged for the post, the crown, which is the tooth constructed for the post. You may need bone surgery, which is sometimes necessary during the operations so you could encounter extra costs.

These costs may seem quite costly to the individual who has lost a tooth, but the benefits are great. One might question the pricing for these procedures and ask maybe you are just being taken for a ride, but if you able to get yourself a dentist that is qualified and experienced you can’t really go wrong.

Materials that dentists use for the operations are expensive and bone grafting also adds to the cost so in the end everything adds up. There also may need to be a team that have to work together on the operation. The dentist in charge of the procedure, known as the prosthodontist will head the team and he is helped with various surgical staff as well as staff from the laboratory.

Many dentists will offer financing and will give their patients a dental financial plan which can be broken down, making it more affordable.

A lot of people may be more familiar with bridges and dentures, which have been more popular and a little more economical. What you will gain over these procedures if you have an implant is that it is permanent so you are only paying once. Implants are also a lot stronger and will last longer than anything else. Often a bridge will wear away or decay and will have to be replaced. This would not be the case of the implant.

I know of several people who have had a tooth pulled and just decided to live without the tooth. Dental implants are so expensive and the 3 folks I know have either had their incomes reduced or have been laid off. We are all in our late 50's and don't see how we can afford such costs.

I had to get an implant last year... Sure wasn't fun. But being educated helped out. I'm sure this will come in handy for many people!

Great information here. I agree with the person who commented above. Prevention is the best possible answer. it is gum disease that is the number 1 cause of tooth loss.

That's why I wrote the book: What You Should Know about Gum Disease - with this information, people will be more empowered to prevent tooth loss!

I believe that the more a person understands prevention the more teeth they will get to keep for the long term AND that means they will also save themselves from expensive dental treatments and live more comfortable lives!

I also know people who go without teeth due to the expense. Just as with all health issues, prevention is key at an early age.
