When we refer to aerobic activity it not always mean going to an aerobics class. It could be running, swimming or cycling to name a few exercises. This could be walking up the stairs instead of using the escalators. You could also park further away from your destination than usual. When you get off the bus or train stop one or two stops earlier and walk the rest of the way.

Does exercise really help you lose weight?


For a lot of people this subject is debateable. It has been proven true although it does not happen overnight. You will need an eating plan to go with your routine. Obviously digging into a doughnut after a long run with the thinking that you will burn it off is not going to work. You will burn it off, but your weight will stay the same.

In the past athletes were obsessed with carbohydrates, eating pasta and rice whenever they had a chance. Studies have shown that eating nutritious fruit and vegetables at regular intervals is the best way to go. Staying off the oils and desserts will also definitely help your case. This will also increase your metabolism.

For every 3,500 calories you burn you will lose 1 pound in body fat. The aim would be to burn more calories than your consume. I am going to use the example of running here. The more miles you run the more calories you burn. I wouldn’t advise a dramatic increase in mileage. This is more of a gradual process. The more effort you put in the more calories you will lose. Running at a higher speed up hills will also help burn more calories.

This is great info. I have resolved to ride 32 minutes at least- every day. I ran 6 miles every other day for months but lost nothing. I was probably not dieting well. I am on a change of life diet - a little more strict than before- but i cycle at least 32 minutes. It doesn't have to be exactly that I suppose but I know after 32 minutes the body burns calories more efficiently. Occasionally I'll repeat the 32 minutes in a day. When it's warm I can go out for hours, of course. Thanks for a great hub.

Thats a very helpful post. I do a lot of exercises and gyming to lose weight hardly helps. Hope there is something out there that helps.
