The top 10 family beach holidays
87Everyone loves a vacation on the beach. Kids love to be by the sea, building sandcastles. They can amuse themselves for hours on end and to top it off kids will not object to spending a couple more hours in the waves. I can’t imagine them wanting to spend too much time marveling over magnificent views of mountain peaks.
These are 10 family beach holidays, which are the most popular listed in no particular order.
Kauai, Hawaii
There is so much to see and do in Hawaii it is difficult to know where to start, but for more family beach destinations Kauai is a great place for a short break to take the family. The Children might want to pop in at the Children’s Discovery Museum.
Durban, South Africa
This is another good place to start for a family beach holiday. It would suit families with young or older children. Recently the city has been improved in a big way before the soccer world cup, which came to South Africa and so it is definitely worth a visit. If there are any surfers in the family this would be a spot not to miss. The beaches are very child-friendly and there are many more quieter beaches around the area if that is your style.
Saulita, Mexico
Besides just another family beach holiday this is a way of experiencing the Mexican way of life and participating with the community, who are very friendly and hospitable.
Caladesi Island, Florida
The beaches of Florida are highly rated and Caladesi Island is rated as one of America’s top beaches, if not the best. It is perfect if you want some solitude. There are also many amazing beaches in Florida that stretch for miles of pure white sand and many family beach holidays to choose from.
Antigua, Caribbean
There is nothing better than white sands and warm waters with many water sports at your disposal. This is a great place for the family to relax. There is not a lot to do in terms of parks for kids, but it’s also worthwhile to enjoy the experience.
Rimini, Italy
Rimini is found in the Adriatic Riviera. It can get crowded during the Summer months, but the beaches are very well-kept. They are clean and perfect for kids. A water park, different theme parks and a dolphinarium will keep the kids busy.
Santo Tomas, Spain
Santo Tomas is located in Minorca. It is great for younger kids because it is a quieter area of Spain with less night life and beaches are not as busy. There is more space for them to dig their sand castles.
Oludeniz Beach, Turkey
Family beach holidays in Turkey have become more and more popular over the last couple of years. It is mostly family-friendly, there is plenty to do and see and the beaches are definitely something to write home about.
Cyprus, Greece
Cyprus is attached with a lot of history so it can be combined with an educational vacation as well. There are a lot of places to stay that are family-friendly, but do some research before so that whole family will enjoy their holiday together.
Noosa, Australia
Noosa has beautiful beaches in Australia with lots to explore and things to do for all members of the family. Try your hand at a few water sports and you may also want to explore the coves in the Bay. There are many different types of accommodation available, even camping is up for grabs.

Awesome, and bookmarked. Some of my girlfriends and I were talking about heading to Madrid for a week, but I like the idea of "family friendly," as Madrid is crazy and I'd like to dial down the "party" aspect a little. Also the note about 'less crowded beaches,' and less night life of Santo Tomas sounds like we might actually relax during a vacation at some point. What a concept!
I'd love to visit every one of these places, beach holidays are the best. I'm sad to say I haven't even been to Noosa yet and I've been to Queensland many times! Will have to rectify that soon, Queenslanders need all the tourists they can get after a tough start to the year with floods and cyclones.
Thanks for listing these places lis, gives me ideas for our next holiday.
don't forget Kuta, Bali
