There are many art ideas you could use for your wall. These could include mixing media, stained glass art

Art comes in many forms and styles , but I don’t think 10 years ago people thought of putting empty frames on the wall and of course now this is thought to be a brilliant idea. Some people wouldn’t agree with having a blank space inside a frame and there are lots of other diy ideas that people have thought of that some people think are pointless and others think are fantastic and we can never agree on everything.

When you are starting out after just buying your first house wall art diy is a great option because it is extremely cheap. Often you can find items that are not been used. Ask your family or friends before they throw old shutters or trays away. You could also go out to a second hand shop or you could hunt for things at various fleamarkets. If the item needs a lot of work to be done you can always have it restored.

This is also a nice way to relax and unwind, thinking creatively is always good if you are constantly focused on the office it is good to use the opposite side of your brain and get those creative juices flowing. Who knows you may do so well that you could end up selling your work and this would be an extremely profitable business to have.

There are many things to learn. There are art schools that specialize in art diy so it is a possibility to take art classes.

Wall Art DIY Ideas

Here are some ideas to get you started

Using Licence Plates on your wall

If you have a big empty space this could be a nice to stick different licence plates up. You can collect licence plates from fleamarkets. You will just need a piece of wood and then you can nail them on the wood in rows and columns.

Display an enlarged copy from a text book

This would be something different for a wall hanging. You would choose different pieces of text. Enlarge it and paste it onto paper. From there you would paste the paper on to a canvas. To get some color onto your canvas use tissue paper which you would glue over the text and as soon as the tissue paper gets wet the text will show through.

Framing

You can really use your imagination when it comes to framing. Make sure the frame and idea goes with the area you are intending to put it in. Some frames can be used anywhere. Nice ideas that you can use inside a frame are different types of fabric with a large border. You can use nice looking dried leaves and frame them. You can use old adverts from the 60’s and 70’s and you can probably find these at fleamarkets. Line 3 up in a row or two at the top and two at the bottom. This depends what best works in the room.

Painting

You don’t have to be the best artist, but for this task you can paint what you like . You can include a lot of texture if it is just one object . You could just paint a simple flower outlined in black and you could paint three of these that  you would line up on canvases the same size.

Just for Kids

Kids also love to get stuck in and developing the potential of our children is basically our responsibility. Teaching them from an early age to get involved in various activities in the arts and crafts will encourage them to persue this as they grow up. They will thank you for this in years to come.

A child's room is a place where they can come and hang out in. It is somewhere where they can escape from the outside world and this is important once in a while. It is also important to use the space to entertain their friends. One thing about a room like this is the way it is decorated. If you help them make the effort you can really transform it into something special. Painting mural, using decals or styrofoam is a great way to get started. Recently I came across the Room Mates Scroll Tree decal, which really blew my mind away. This is something that will bright every room up.

This is so great. I have bicycle memorabilia everywhere being a former bicycle store owner. I'm not multidimensional. Great advice and video.

Great art ideas! I like that empty frame idea. Afterall, when people look at art, they often interpret it in their own way, so with a frame, they could imagine anything inside it! Old adverts in those frames is also a wonderful idea. You're full of ideas. Useful hub!

I love painting wall murals..especially for children...I painted a huge jungle wall mural in an unusually walled room...and a tilted ceiling..You can use textured paint too and all sorts of media can be applied to give it 'spaahkle'..being unlimited and thinking 'outside the box' can lead to wonderful unexpected results. Don't fear experimenting
